FIRE & ICE GALA DINNER
Our Fire and Ice Gala Dinner is a visual spectacular not to be missed, combining the wonderment of all things cold white and icy with the contrast of hot red fire!
As our guests arrive at the venue, they will be greeted by two large snow Nymphs who usher them towards the white carpet and into the ‘magical ice tunnel.’ Giving guests a taste for what is to come, the tunnel is a transition from the normal into the mystical… plasma screen TV’s are mounted on the white walls and display winter imagery of glaciers, polar bears, frozen lakes, husky drawn sleighs and snow capped mountains…then as guests move further through the magical tunnel, they begin to feel the prickle of pine trees beside them, the crunching of fresh snow under their feet, the twinkling of bright stars above them and the cool air of winter upon their face…
Stepping through the hanging icicles at the end of the tunnel guests finally arrive at the formal entranceway of the ‘winter wonderland’ and are met with a gentle shower of dry snow falling from overhead. Before them, lies a truly exquisite sight; the venue has been transformed into an enchanted icy palace! A forest of snow covered pine trees lines the venue which is encircled by a light misty haze. A ‘field’ of ice sculptures including, unicorns, penguins, reindeer and snowmen surround a spectacular ‘ice bar’ awash with electric blue beams of light. In the centre of the room lies a beautiful ice lake above which, a crystal mirrored ball gently spins and projects rays of shimmering stars onto the ice – the lake will also be the centre stage for the evening’s formal entertainment.
The dinner tables are arranged around the ice lake and are adorned with crisp white tablecloths, featuring blue-lit glass pinnacle sculptures and white miniature balloons as centrepieces. White and silver snowflakes are sprinkled over the tablecloths and the high backed chairs are also dressed with white covers and are wrapped with striking silver sashes.
As the chilling sounds of Enya, Crystal Palace and Antarctica, float throughout the venue, guests are able to enjoy a variety of cloudy white cocktails and warm winter canapés served by mystical snow creatures. Award winning ice sculptors also provide interesting viewing as they carve the company’s logo on the large ice wall at the rear of the room.
Once guests are settled, the MC, a beautiful Snow Queen, makes a grand entrance by arriving on the ice lake in a large silver sleigh complete with ringing bells. After she formally welcomes her guests she encourages them to enjoy their lavish surroundings and be swept into the ice storm of entertainment that is to come. Whilst guests enjoy the delights of our ‘winter wonderland’ feast, the ice lake becomes emblazed with a fantastic lighting sequence providing a great focus point for the evening as guests enjoy the delights of our ‘winter wonderland’ feast.
THE SHOW
Just after guests are finishing mains the lights start to darken and the sound of bongo drums fills the air … guests then witness a magical transformation from white to red…. serenity to passion…. icy cool to red hot as the once icy white palace turns into a fiery hot furnace!
The pine trees which originally were covered in powdery snow suddenly start to twinkling with red fairy lights, the icy lake now simmers under red hot lighting, large flamed flares that surround the perimeter suddenly light up in a dramatic fire display and the frosty blue haze that had hovered throughout the room earlier now becomes a smoky red. Red roses are scattered around the room along with red helium balloons and red candles – the guests have suddenly been transported into a new world of rich vibrant colour and energy!
Just as they start to adjust to their new steamy surroundings, a loud voice tells them to pop all the balloons on the tables, POP, POP, POP, the room explodes like fireworks and just as the popping begins to die down, the red hot lake fires up with a sensational show featuring some of the sexiest drumming, percussion and dance performances ever to rock a Winter wonderland.
As they enjoy the sizzling show, guests are offered a selection of red, hot drinks including, strawberry daiquiris, bloody Mary’s, red wines and ports. The show progresses as guests are served their desert and eventually the rhythm, beat and volume increases as the dancers and musicians make their way down into the audience. They encourage guests to give in to the infectious beats of the music and to join in the spicy conga line weaving through the room.
From here, the entertainment becomes more interactive with guests encouraged to let loose and dance the night away to the sounds of reggae, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music.
With this theme we are able to create a uniquely sensational event, captivating imaginations and stimulating the senses of all guests like they have never experienced
HAWAIIAN/ISLAND PARADISE PARTY THEME
Celebrate with a Hawaiian luau, bringing the bright colours of the exotic Pacific islands to your home or garden. This tropical party theme is great for any age.
Wrap the party room in an ambient scene-setter to get the crowd into beach mode, even if it’s a bit grey outside. Play some gentle Hawaiian music early on and then blast out hits by Elvis or the Beach Boys as the party gets into full swing. Ask your guests to come dressed in floral shirts and bright colours. Extend a typical, sunny Pacific-island welcome and greet each guest with a flower lei.
Set up your buffet table with a platter of exotic fruit skewers and vegetable crudités and dips, with retro pineapple and cheese sticks and colourful glasses and plates. Mix up jugs of cocktails, punches and soft drinks in advance if there’s a large crowd, to save you endless trips to the kitchen as guests arrive. Chill beer and other drinks in a themed cooler.
Mix up cocktails to suit the theme, such as Pina Coladas, Sea Breezes and Blue Lagoons. Garnish with typical tropical flourish with straws, umbrellas and fruit! For younger partygoers, a mix of fruit juices will make for a great soft punch, with a drop of grenadine in the bottom of each glass for an added ‘sunrise’ effect.
Light the barbeque and deck the patio out with colourful tiki torches, lanterns, garlands and pompoms. Hot dogs and burgers are a party food favourite; set up a station where people can construct their own toppings with an array of ingredients to choose from. Coconut ice-cream and a large fruit-laden jelly or fruit salad alongside the cake will go down a treat for dessert.
A Hawaiian party wouldn’t feel right without a limbo competition, so turn up the party music and get everyone involved.
“Feast for the Senses”
We propose creating a ‘Feast of the Senses’ Gala Dinner where all five senses are stimulated over the course of the evening. Guests become fully engaged in a multi-sensory experience.
As guests enter the venue, they are greeted by a vista of magnificent floral arrangements adorning the room. The fragrance of essential oils mingle subtly with floral aromas. Images and sounds of birds and flowers swirl above and around them in a manner that will create intrigue, wonderment and delight. The distinct, yet subtle flow of a waterfall in the distance caps this experience.
The soothing sounds of a live harpist adds to the feeling of relaxation and intimacy. An atmospheric soundtrack of nature accompanies this – babbling brooks, wind in pine trees, gentle waves, birds etc
The lighting in the room emanates predominantly from large candelabras lining the walls – providing a soft, warm and inviting ambience. Guests are seated at long elegant tables with high backed chairs draped in silk covers. The tables are adorned with spectacular displays of fruit – limes, oranges and pineapples complimented by floral arrangements consisting of orange bird of paradise and blue gerberas.
As guests are seated, they are served the first course of many in this magnificent repast. A degustation menu will be especially designed that will provide guests with sensations never before experienced.
The subtleties of the magnificent produce will be enhanced with the flavours of complimentary wines.
Each course is capped with sorbet to cleanse the palette and refresh the senses for the next sensation.
The meal is accompanied by the sonorous strains of a string quartet.
To make this awesome experience complete, guests are totally indulged as masseuses relieve the stresses of the day with soothing aromatic oils … and so the night continues into the wee hours….
UNDERWATER THEMED GALA DINNER
Imagine being transported deep into the depths of the ocean….. an underwater dining experience like no other…
On arrival guests enter through the large mouth of a whale into this fantastic underwater scene. Large backdrops and plasma screens cover the walls, with vision of sharks, whales and tropical fish swimming in the depths…these images completely surround the tables giving guests the illusion of being deep under the sea. Adding to this effect guests hear bubbling noises and the sounds of deep-sea creatures all adding to the atmosphere. The smell of sea-salt is in the air along with mobile tropical fish, treasure chests, mermaids, anchors, shells, nets and sunken boats all scattered about the ocean floor.
There are stunning lighting effects around the room creating this underwater world… shades of blue, green, aqua and purple permeate just below the ceiling to look like the the surface of the sea. Colourful pictures of coral, kelp, pink starfish, orange seahorses and other sea life adorn the walls and screens. Colourful fish, sea urchins and mermaids hang from the ceiling along with a large crab and a giant starfish.
Tables are adorned with deep sea blue tablecloths and white linen serviettes. Sea-shells and sand are sprinkled around small bowls each with a gold fish making up the centrepieces. Each chair has deep sea blue covers with gold bowed chair wraps.
Hear the tales of deep-sea adventures, told by the Salty Captain or Mermaid the MC for the evening who formally welcomes our sea guests to this unusual underwater world.
Large glorious sea-food platters are served along with beautiful white wines as guests enjoy the sounds of blues and jazz well into the wee hours…..

AFRICAN THEME / PARTY ANIMALS
Some say the heart of Africa can be heard in the moment just before the sun sets over the horizon… as the animals sweep over the dusty plains and the sound of drumming begins to beat amidst the cooling night air…
Let your guests experience the wonderment and tranquillity of Africa with our African Party Animals dinner, sure to connect guests with the beauty and magic of nature.
There are several options for costumes to choose from starting with safari suits, leopard skin outfits and grass skirts however, we highly recommend for something a little different to have guests dressed as party animals complete with exquisite head pieces or masks of lions, tigers, leopards, gorillas, monkeys or even a toucan.
When guests arrive at the dinner the room/marquee has been totally transformed into a wild African jungle! The sounds of running water, waterfalls and animal noises fill the air and bounce between the huge trees, which feature backlit animals and exotic birds. Flaming bamboo flares glow throughout the room which features appropriate African backdrops complete with thatched huts, creeping vines and even cobwebs. Beautiful white mosquito nets hang from the ceiling along with hessian and shining lanterns. Fairy lights twinkle from above the leafy canopies giving guests the sense of being under a starry night sky. A fog machine creates a misty haze over the room with stunning lighting effects of soft green, red and blue hues all enhancing this jungle theme. The tables’ feature black tablecloths with leopard print overlays adorned with kerosene lanterns, exotic flowers and African artefacts. The napkins and chairs are also dressed in leopard print.
The wait staff dressed as Tarzan and Jane and as well as providing excellence table service can hand guests the head pieces/masks or alternatively these can be waiting in the hotel room on arrival to the conference. A Witchdoctor greets guests as they enter and serves jungle juice from his cauldron. He also encourages guests to step into one of his “hot tubs” (cauldrons) and photos are taken of him stirring the pot with them in it – a great take home gift.
While guests are mingling and being served pre-dinner drinks, African cocktails in coconuts and canapés, a snake handler circles the room with this python snake and our MC dressed as a hunter complete with pith helmet and safari suit wanders the room regaling guests with tall stories about his hunting exploits.
As guests are being seated our “tribal drummers” begin with a short performance setting the rich flavour of the night.
ENTERTAINMENT
The night would not be complete without a large array of African entertainment including tribal dancing and drumming which is performed by traditionally dressed Africans. The infectious sounds of beating drums will be the impetus to get people on their feet and dancing. Our performers will lead the group through traditional dances, getting individuals, then larger groups up to strut their stuff. We can also incorporate fun activities such as the “Limbo” and guests could join together for a Grand Finale dancing the ‘CONGA’ around the room!
Other entertainment includes a dramatic performance by the Witchdoctor as well as flame throwers, fire walkers, fire eaters, snake and other animal handlers and even an aerial act featuring the animals of the jungle including monkeys, chimpanzees, birds and other flying phenomena. Between sets, a DJ plays dance music with an emphasis on African rhythms along with contemporary tracks.
By the end of the evening, guests will feel they have been in the heart of Africa!
